Journey House Mission
Journey House supports former foster and probation youth to live fully independent, successful lives. Founded in 1983, Journey House provides emotional support and guidance, as well as financial aid to help them with the cost of attending college and vocational schools.
How we deliver our mission
Journey House was founded by Tim Mayworm in 1983 after seeing the many unmet needs that youth who have “aged-out” of the foster care experience. Journey House’s doors have been open to youth for 34 years, providing shelter, offering support, instilling hope, and giving every youth who comes through a place to call home.
It is the goal of every board member, director, program manager, advocate, and each volunteer to live out this mission of helping former foster youth succeed after leaving the foster care system.
